Busan Prepares for BTS Concert Visitors With Fair-Price Tourism Promotions

Urban Tourism Planning for a Major Concert Event

As Busan prepares for the BTS concert at Busan Asiad Main Stadium on June 12 and 13, the city and the Busan Tourism Organization are expanding tourism support for both domestic and international fans. With more than 100,000 visitors expected to come to Busan for the event, local authorities are using the concert period to improve visitor convenience, offer fair-priced tourism programs, and strengthen Busan’s image as a welcoming global tourism city.

Addressing Price Gouging Concerns in the Accommodation Sector

One of the main goals of the promotion is to respond to concerns over price gouging during large-scale events, especially in the accommodation sector. Busan plans to link this concert-period campaign with its Fair Accommodation Challenge in order to reduce booking inconvenience and discourage excessive pricing. Rather than allowing negative experiences to shape visitors’ impressions, the city is trying to create a more trustworthy environment for fans traveling to Busan for the concert.

Encouraging Visitors to Explore More of the City

To encourage fans to travel beyond the area around the concert venue, Busan will offer major discounts on key tourism transportation services from June 11 to 14. Fans who can prove their ARMY status by showing a concert ticket, official fan club verification, or official merchandise can receive a 50 percent discount on the Busan City Tour Bus and the Taejongdae Danubi Train in Yeongdo. Through these offers, the city hopes to ease crowd concentration near the stadium and guide visitors toward other areas such as Taejongdae, Busan Port, and western Busan districts including Buk-gu. The Danubi Train may suspend operations in case of rain or severe weather for safety reasons.

Welcome Benefits for International Visitors

Busan is also preparing a special welcome program for foreign visitors. The BTS welcome kit includes three vouchers: a 20 percent discount coupon for the Visit Busan Pass BIG3 product, a free welcome drink coupon for the Port Village food festival at Busan Port Pier 1, and a discount coupon for the Starry Sea Busan Night Market Early Summer event at Hwamyeong Ecological Park. These welcome kits will be distributed at seven locations, including Busan Station, Gimhae Airport, and public accommodation facilities. In addition to the vouchers, the kit also includes promotional materials such as a B-POP tour course guide and Busan tourism souvenirs

Building a Positive Long-Term Tourism Image

By linking the concert with transportation discounts, welcome kits, and nearby festivals, Busan is trying to spread tourism benefits across a wider area instead of concentrating activity only around the stadium. The city also hopes to build more positive impressions of staying and spending in Busan during a month filled with major K-pop events, including the BTS concert and the Busan One Asia Festival. In this way, the promotion is not only about short-term convenience for concertgoers, but also about presenting Busan as a safe, transparent, and visitor-friendly city for large cultural events.
